The new 2024 Toyota Highlander has three engine options. Base model LE comes with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder motor. It can produce 185 HP and 184 Lb-ft torque. The front-wheel drive system powers this engine and connects it to the 6-speed manual transmission. This engine is able to get fuel economy of 20/24 mpg in both the city and highway.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine is the most preferred. It produces 110 horsepower and 263 lb/ft more torque than the previous one. This engine is equipped with an 8-speed auto transmission. This engine has a better fuel economy on the highway and in the city, with a 20/27 mpg difference for the LE trim model and the AWD LE Plus model. Other trims of this engine, such as LE with AWD, get 19/26 mpg, 21/27 mpg for the FWD LE Plus and XLE, SE Limited, Limited Platinum. AWD XLE and SE Limited, Limited Platinum give 20/26 mpg.
The hybrid model will be powered by a powerful 3.5-liter V6 motor. The engine is connected with the AC 650-volt permanent magnet motors. It produces 306 HP. This engine produces 11 more HP than the standard V6 engine. The hybrid engine will come with front-wheel drive, and the AWD option is available in the other trims. Hybrid models in city/highway are able to achieve fuel economy of 30/28 mpg with the LE trim, and 29/27 mpg with the XLE, Limited, Limited Platinum trims.
2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Prices and Release Date
The price of the new Toyota Highlander 2024 is unknown. The current model cost $32,000, plus $1000 destination fee. We expect the new model to be similar. The V6 engine will likely add $2,000 to the above price. The price for V6-powered Limited Platinum AWD starts at $48,000
The base LE price for the Hybrid one model will be $37,700. The Limited Platinum version costs $49,000. The model will be available for purchase at the end of 2024.
